As Si Fu spoke that night at different times, he smiled a few times as he looked at the clothes he was wearing. His blouse with rolled-up sleeves and jeans are his trademark. And I was happy to see him dressed like that up close again. It turns out that at times I could see the scar from his recent surgery on his chest. A line lighter than his skin that cuts his chest vertically, showed as he moved and fidgeted excitedly, while telling a story, making some etymological note, or getting someone to reflect on their own words. And seeing that line of his scar, I thought briefly of how a 22-year story could suddenly end. And even though I know that Si Fu is not very fond of metaphysical beliefs, I who am quite a lot, I kept thinking about everything that had happened. As if the simple decision to move to the US, allowed him to take care of his health when he needed it most with all that was best. In addition to allowing his daughters and wife, they could be vaccinated months earlier than other people in Brazil. - "It was always lucky!" - Si Fu himself said.
